Interministerial Ordinance MME/MCT No. 323/2011

This policy updates the minimum energy efficiency levels for window type air conditioners and split type air conditioners. 

 

The regulation prohibits the manufacturing and import of non-compliant window type air conditioners from December 31, 2011, the marketing of non-compliant air conditioners by importers from December 31, 2012, and the marketing by wholesales and retailers of non-compliant air conditioners as of December 31, 2013.

 

The minimum energy performance standard for split AC was increased to 2.6 (from 2.39).
