Liquid Hydrogen Carrier Demonstration Project

Document drafted by the government envisioning that the three largest shipbuilding companies will work towards the demonstration and commercialization of liquid hydrogen ships. The plan includes a total investment of KRW 55.5 billion in 2025. A demonstration vessel (2000 m3) is to be designed by 2025 with construction in 2026-2027 and verification in 2028. After testing in 2028, the technology is expected to be completed by 2030. Subsequent plans include developing a 40000 m3 carrier by 2032 and one 160000 m3 carrier by 2040
