Support Program for Building GX Supply Chains

JPY 56.2 billion (USD 360 million) of public funding across 4 projects with a total investment of 170.8 billion (USD 1.1 billion). Projects supported include 3 GW/yr electrolyser manufacturing and 75 000 fuel cell system for commercial trucks by 2030 (Toyota), 30 000 fuel cells manufacturing capacity by 2027 (Honda), hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membranes for use in PEM electrolysers with enough capacity to serve 10 GW/yr by 2028 (Toray Industries), 3 GW/yr of alkaline electrolyser manufacturing (Asahi Kasei)
