Environmentally Sustainable Procurement Policy and Reporting Framework
The policy itself has reporting requirements from suppliers on metrics like low carbon embodied materials used. The procurer (i.e., government official) is able to specify their requirement on low embodied carbon materials (either as tonnes, volume, dollars, or tonnes of CO2 minimized) and then bidders would have to show that they meet that requirement. The policy specifies that to be considered low embodied carbon, it has to achieve a NABERS embodied carbon 4-star rating. One of the documents notes that this rating will not be released until late 2024/early 2025
