Targeted capacity is 875 MW, but less could be awarded
HAR 2 closed to applications in April 2024. There were 87 applications totalling 2.8 GW of production capacity. In April 2025, the government announced a shortlist of 27 projects (765 MW) that have been invited to the next stage of the process, which includes due diligence and cost assurance. Projects should come online between 2026 and March 2029
In paril 2025 27 projects with a cumulative capacity of 765 MW of electrolysis were shortlisted. Next step is due diligence (which took 5 months for HAR1) followed by refinement of the proposals and the negotiation phase (which also took 5 months for HAR1)
