Ontario Hydrogen Innovation Fund

Ontario’s Hydrogen Innovation Fund (HIF) supports projects testing how low-carbon hydrogen can help balance and strengthen the electricity grid. With a CAD 15 million budget over three years doubled to CAD 30 million in March 2025 the fund backs technologies for grid reliability and cross-sector use

The first round funded 15 demonstration projects focused on blending, electrolyzers, grid flexibility, and heat and power generation.
