Auctions for renewable hydrogen under European Hydrogen Bank (EHB)

Spain will allocate between €280–400 million for hydrogen, with the final amount depending on a separate subsidy scheme. In January 2025, the Prime Minister confirmed €400 million. The measure was approved by the European Commission in April, and in June 2025, Spain approved €377 million for the mechanism. In July 2025, the funding was awarded to three projects with a cumulative electrolyzer capacity of 485 MW
