The Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) serves as the national strategic guidance tool that integrates energy and climate policy with a time horizon extending to 2030, in accordance with national and European regulations.
Spain's indicative energy planning, as detailed in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), outlines the country's targets for energy generation and supply, including the massive integration of renewable energy sources and the modernization of the electricity grid. This plan aims to achieve a 43% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030 compared to 1990, with 81% of electricity generation coming from renewable sources. The plan also includes targets for energy efficiency improvements, increased electricity demand, and a 50% energy independence.
