Overcoming the National Single Price (PUN)

Considering the management complexities and the constraints that the PUN introduces into the electricity market, especially in view of the growing integration of European markets based on market coupling and greater participation of demand in the market, the usefulness of overcoming the PUN in the medium term is confirmed, evaluating the evolution of future network structures also in relation to the effects of the growing penetration of generation from renewable sources and foreseeing the preventive implementation of specific interventions aimed at reducing network congestion and/or possible competitive disadvantages of specific territorial areas.
