The PNRR provides for an investment (3.1), called "Green Islands", for the financing and implementation of projects in the fields of energy (such as renewable sources, the electricity grid, energy efficiency), water (such as desalination), transport (cycle paths, zero-emission buses and boats) and waste (e.g. separate waste collection) in 19 small islands not connected to the mainland.
The beneficiaries of the intervention are the 13 municipalities of the 19 small islands referred to in Article 2, paragraph 1 of Annex 1 Part A of Ministerial Decree no. 390, dated 25 November 2021.
The total amount of the Investment is equal to 200,000,000 euros; to access the resources, it is necessary to carry out at least three of the types of eligible interventions on each island.
