Hydrogen backbone

The government plans to build 2300km of H2 pipelines (Hydrogen Backbone) with start of operation scheduled for 2030. The government is also investing in electrolysers in Sicily and Puglia for 1.7 GW of which 1.5 GW for injection into the Hydrogen Backbone, with start of operation scheduled for 2026-2031.
