Industry Decarbonization Programme

The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) are preparing a programme for decarbonisation of industry, to be presented in early 2025. The Confederacao Nacional da Industria has prepared an extensive report analysing the experiences of other world regions, including EU, US, Germany and UK. Recommendations for Brazil include providing economic and fiscal incentives, investing in technology and creating specific financing lines.
The plan willl focus on 11 sectors: cement, chemicals, steel, aluminum, Portland cement, paper and pulp, glass, lime, textiles, food and aviation.
