Fossil-Free Energy sources research

In 2025 budget, the Swedish government has allocated SEK 1.65 billion for research in fossil-free energy, with a particular emphasis on nuclear power, battery technology and  hydrogen technology. The nuclear power has been awarded with SEK 400 billion in credit guarantees.

 In 2026, 145 million (SEK 1.53 billion) was allocated to energy research, supporting research, innovation, and the utilisation of results, as well as the development of fossil‑free and energy‑efficient technologies.
