The Latvian government has approved a heating aid program to help households cope with rising energy costs. The aid covers various heating methods, including electricity, gas, central heating, wood pellets, briquettes, and firewood. For electricity, the state compensates 50% of the price above EUR 0.160/kWh, up to EUR 0.100/kWh. Gas users receive 50% compensation for price increases, and central heating users get a 50% reduction in service charges above a certain threshold. The program also provides compensation for wood pellets, briquettes, and firewood if costs exceed specified limits.
