Hydrogen Promotion Act - WFÖG

The Hydrogen Promotion Act (WFöG) aims to promote the production of renewable hydrogen in Austria to achieve climate neutrality by 2040. The law provides up to €820 million in funding for the construction and operation of renewable hydrogen production facilities, supporting them for up to 10 years. It targets a production capacity of 300 MW. Funding is allocated through competitive auctions, with first auction starting on December 3, 2024.
