National Roadmap for Net Zero Carbon Buildings

The National Roadmap for Net Zero Carbon Buildings sets the framework and targets for the decarbonation of the buildings sector. It notably quotes: 

  • 2030: 100% target of new buildings licensed, large residential renovations are net zero at the operational carbon level and residential renovations achieve a reduction of 40 % of operational carbon, with respect to the baseline, to achieve an overall 30% reduction in embedded carbon.
  • 2040: 80% of new buildings and major renovations, in urban areas, to be net zero at the operational carbon level and achieve a 70% reduction of embedded carbon.
  • 2050: 100% of new buildings and major renovations to be net zero at the operational and embedded carbon level.
