National Energy Transition Plan to 2030

The plan sets out objectives and specific targets to measure its energy transition by 2030. 
It includes: 

  • Not exceeding 349 Mt CO2e throughout the economy, 
  • Reducing energy demand by at least 8% through energy efficiency, 
  • Surpassing 50% of electricity generation from renewable sources, 
  • Achieving a 2% increase in electric vehicles in the vehicle fleet, 
  • Reaching 1,000 MW of distributed renewable generation, and 
  • Expanding the electric transmission network by 5,000 km of new high-voltage lines.
