Southeast Asia METEC (The Methane Emissions Technology Evaluation Center)

In June 2023, JOGMEC and Malaysia’s national oil and gas company (PETRONAS) announced the establishment of a methane emissions technology evaluation center (METEC) to promote cooperation for mitigating methane emissions in the ASEAN region. The facility is set to provide support to companies in studying the MMRV processes for methane emissions, assisting in the reduction of methane emissions in the ASEAN region, and supporting implementation plans for methane measurement technology.
