Research Innovation Enterprise (RIE)
The Research Innovation Enterprise (RIE) aims to fund and support Singapore's vision of becoming a research-intensive, innovative and entrepreneurial economy. The first RIE (RIE2015) was announced and established in 2010 and is worth SGD $60 billion up to 2025. In the RIE, the SIngapore government will sustain investments in R&D and innovation at about 1% of Singapore's GDP over 2021 to 2025. The associated efforts include:Manufacturing, Trade and ConnectivityHuman Health and PotentialUrban Solutions and Sustainability Smart Nation and Digital Economy Academia ResearchManpowerIn particular, it supported the required R&D activities to decarbonise Singapore's power sector such as solar, grid technologies, hydrogen, carbon capture utilisation and storage solutions.
