Abolishment of electric motor tax exemption

Under the Motor Vehicle Tax Act, the Confederation levies a tax of 4% on motor vehicles used for the transport of persons or goods. 

Electric cars have been exempted from the tax since it was introduced in 1997, until January 2024.
