Green Tech Fund (GTF)

The Government has set up a Green Tech Fund (GTF) in 2020 to fund research and development (R&D) projects that can help Hong Kong decarbonize and enhance environmental protection. A total of $400 million has been allocated to the GTF.
Priority will be given to projects in four areas: Net-zero Electricity Generation, Energy Saving and Green Buildings, Green Transport, and Waste Reduction.  

The fund is granted on a project basis considering the time cycles of the projects. Company Applicants can receive $20 million on a matching basis while for non-company applicants, the maximum funding amount for each project is $30 million.
