Financing for Environmentally Friendly Business Activities from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI)

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Persero Tbk, which is a state-owned company, seeks to prioritize sustainable financing based on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles in its business and operational aspects. BRI provides financial support by channeling financing to business activities in the green sector. Until the end of June 2023, BRI was recorded as having distributed credit worth IDR 79.4 trillion for Environmentally Friendly Business Activities. Of this value, IDR 5.7 trillion was channeled for renewable energy projects and IDR 12 trillion for environmentally friendly transportation. This financing distribution activity is also supported by BRI's funding strategy through the issuance of ESG-themed bonds, such as green bonds and sustainability bonds.
