Reduction in electricity costs May - June 2021

In May 2021, the Thai government issued a policy to reduce electricity costs for the May - June 2021 period to support the public during the COVID-19 outbreak, particularly during the period of working from home.

The policies outlined are as follows:

  • Residential electricity consumers who use no more than 150 units of electricity per month are entitled to free electricity for the first 90 units.
  • Residential electricity consumers who use more than 150 units of electricity per month.
  • Small business electricity users (excluding government agencies and state-owned enterprises) are granted free electricity for the first 50 units.
