Foreign Trade Act

Provisions of the Foreign Trade Act provides statutory authority to the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy to set and notify import-export controls for a variety of purposes. The Act allows the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy to set and notify a list of items subject to import-export controls and/or bans (see related policies).

First ratified in 1987, the Foreign Trade Act was most recently revised in 2024, and undergoes regular revisions.
