In the second round of Dutch-French government consultations, representatives of the two governments released this statement signalling their joint commitment to increasing energy security and sustainability in the European Union and to reducing dependence on critical minerals. The two countries have signed a bilateral energy and climate dialogue to meet EU climate goals and increase Europe’s energy security and improve the competitiveness of the EU economy. To advance Europe's strategic autonomy, they also commit to developing European investment and production capacities that contribute to the green and digital transitions, to diversifying supply chains and to optimising the use of resources through the circular economy.
