Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Centre for Technology Metals (Met4Tech)

The Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Centre for Technology Metals (Met4Tech) is funded by UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) National Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Research (NICER) Programme, a GBP 30 million programme to support R&D in the circular economy, including in technology metals. Lead by the University of Exeter, Met4Tech brings together academic and industrial partners to identify new sources of sustainable supply, stocks and flows, manufacturing and technology innovations, and the policy context for the UK. The Centre is guided by four cascading theme areas:
Theme 1: Virtual data observatory - stocks/flows & practices
Theme 2: Circular economy principles for raw materials & new geomodels
Theme 3: Design, manufacturing and recycling technologies 
Theme 4: Roadmap for a new technology metals circular economy system
In addition, the three cross-cutting themes of responsible innovation & social science, environment and regulation & governance are considered in each Theme Area.
