EUR 1.7 million for geothermal energy in municipalities

In March 2022, the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy allocated EUR 1.7 million under the Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Energy Security Programme to six municipalities to support the development of geothermal energy for heating and cooling in public buildings. Subsidy amount per project ranges from 200,000 to 400,000 euro.
