Public Transport Assistance Programme

In 2022, the Philippines government, under the regular budget of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Agriculture (DA), allocated PHP 2.5 billion in subsidies for the implementation of the Pantawid Pasada Programme to soften the high price of oil. Fuel vouchers were distributed to qualified public utility vehicles (PUV), taxis, tricycles, and full-time ride-hailing and delivery service drivers.

The programme remains in place in 2023, with an additional PHP 500 million, making PHP 3 billion in total earmarked in the 2023 national budget.
