New Caledonia’s Energy Transition Plan 2.0 (2022-…)

The second New Caledonia Energy Transition Plan (2022-…) will provide an update to the first one and its sectoral applications. 

The announced target of this second plan is to achieve a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of a minimum 70% by 2035, as compared to 2019. There are 3 objectives for 2030: 

·      Greening the mining and metallurgy sectors (at least 50% of renewable energy in their energy mix); 

·      Developing decarbonated mobility (50% of new vehicles to be electric) ;

·      Boosting the energy transition of the territory and industries.
