National Science and Technology Achievement Transfer and Transformation Fund

The Ministry of Sciences and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Finance and the Chinese Academy of Sciences oversee this fund. It holds over 30 VC sub-funds with target investments of CNY 25 billion.In concrete terms, the National Science and Technology Achievement Transfer and Transformation Fund (or Transformation Fund) supports the transformation and utilization (i.e. marketization) of scientific and technological achievements formed by financial funds, including national (industry, departmental), scientific and technological plans, and other new technologies produced by public institutions.These innovations are supported through:the establishment of venture capital sub-funds, jointly initiated by the Transformation Fund and third-party qualified investment institutionsthey provide equity investments for companies transforming scientific and technological achievementsthe establishment of loan risk compensationthe establishment of performance rewards to enterprises, scientific research institutions, colleges and universities and technology intermediary service institutions considered to have greatly contributed to transforming scientific and technological achievements
