Last updated: 05 September 2025
To improve the initial operating conditions of the hydrogen charging stations, the Ministry of Environment provides a subsidy for hydrogen refueling stations’ fuel purchase cost for their initial operating conditions. From Feb 9 to 23 opened applications from 66 companies, which operated hydrogen charging stations last year (2021). In total, 61 charging stations were selected and provided support – an average of KRW 58 million per company, totaling KRW 3.5 billion. This is the second year of the subsidy:
- The average amount of subsidy per charging station has halved (KRW 114 million  58 million)
- The number of stations supported increased from 12 to 61
- The average deficit per station decreased by 12.6% (KRW 183 million  160 million)
