Infrastructure and Jobs act: Remediating environmental harms in abandoned industrial sites

As part of the Infrastructure and Jobs Act, this policy aims to clean up Brownfield and Superfund sites and to reclaim abandoned mine land and cap orphaned gas wells. Specifically, USD 4.7 billion is attributed to plugging, remediation and restoration of orphaned gas wells. This infrastructure will prevent further emittance of methane from these wells.
