Decree 191 - identification of preferential parking lots for electric vehicles

Last updated: 11 February 2022

Within the framework of the 1964 Electric Mobility Law and the National Electric Mobility Strategy, launched in August 2019, the Decree regulates the identification of the preferential parking spaces for electric vehicles and the logo and colour that they must carry.

According to the decree, the parking areas for electric vehicles will have a logo with the letter P and a white plug on a green background. These spaces must correspond to 2% of the total of each parking lot, according to the provisions of article 7 of the 1964 of 2019 Electric Mobility Law, which regulated the destination of that percentage as a minimum. In addition, these places cannot replace the spaces designated for people with reduced mobility or the bicycle parking areas.

The decree for the identification of preferential parking spaces for electric vehicles must be complied with by public entities and commercial establishments that offer parking spaces to the public, in municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants.
