Estrategia de Almacenamiento Energético (Energy Storage)
Strategy aims to support renewable deployment. It establishes a target of 20 GW of storage capacity by 2030 (including 8.3 GW that are already available) and 30 GW by 2050. Technologies that can contribute to this target are pumped hydro, batteries, thermal storage and renewable hydrogen. The strategy encourages innovation across the storage value chain, from raw materials to new business models, with a focus on circular economy principles. The strategy includes 10 lines of action and 66 measures addressing technical, regulatory, economic, and social aspects, with a focus on public participation, R&D, skills development, and removing administrative barriers.
