Fourth supplementary budget 2020 - Support for affordable & energy-efficient housing construction

As part of Finland’s Covid-19 recovery measures, the fourth supplementary budget for 2020 allocated EUR 340 million to support affordable and energy-efficient housing construction. The package included rent regulation, loans for construction companies, and support for senior housing in strategic locations to reduce transport needs in urban areas. The specific energy-efficiency improvement scheme expired in 2023, although subsidies for elderly people’s renovations and tax credits for household renovation expenses may still be available in Finland.
