“TEVMOT- Promoting Energy-Efficient Motors in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Turkey” Project is a 5-year project covering 2017-2022 period, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Project is being carried out under the responsibility of the Directorate General of Industry and Productivity (DGIP) in cooperation with UNDP Turkey Office.Project aims to encourage additional investments in the field of energy efficiency in industry through market transformation of electric motors used in small and medium-sized enterprises. In the market transformation process, in addition to replacing the existing inefficient motors used in industrial enterprises; new electric motors and machineries equipped with these motors are also aimed to be efficient.Currently, a financial support mechanism has been established with KOSGEB and SMEs have started to avail the mentioned support. The capacity of Motor Test Laboratory has been improved to test electric motors up to 375 kWh. And, the harmonization studies related to Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1781 with regard to electric motors and variable speed drives have been continuing as required by the components of the Project.
