Energy conservation (prescribed regulated goods) order 2017

The Energy Conservation (Prescribed Regulated Goods) Order 2017 specifies the goods that fall under the scope of Part III (Energy conservation measures for domestic and industry sectors).

 

The goods have thus to comply with the following:

(a) they must be registered;

(b) they must conform to either or both of the following:

(i) the minimum energy efficiency standard prescribed for the goods;

(ii) any other requirement prescribed for the goods affecting or relating to the energy efficiency standard;

(c) they must be labelled with the information prescribed for the goods, in the manner prescribed or allowed by the Director-General in any particular case;

(d) they must be accompanied by the information prescribed for the goods relating to energy efficiency, in the manner prescribed or allowed by the Director-General in any particular case;

(e) information prescribed for the goods relating to energy efficiency must be disseminated in the manner prescribed or allowed by the Director-General in any particular case.

 

The goods falling under this rules are the following:

(a) any air-conditioner described in Part 1 of the First Schedule (single-phase non-ducted room air-conditioner (casement or window type) with cooling capacity of 8.8 kW or lower; single-phase non-ducted room air-conditioner (split type (inverter)) with cooling capacity of 17.6 kW or lower; single-phase non-ducted room air-conditioner (split type (non-inverter)) with cooling capacity of 17.6 kW or lower), from the 1st of January 2018;

(b) any single-phase clothes dryer having a rated capacity of 10 kilograms or lower, from the 1st of January 2018;

(c) any lamp described in Part 1 of the Third Schedule (single-phase lamp incandescent / fluorescent / LED; CFLni; LFL; LED to replace LFL and CFLni), from the 1st of January 2018 for single-phase lamps and the 1st of November 2019 for the others;

(d) any single-phase refrigerator with an adjusted volume of up to 900 litres, from the 1st of January 2018;

(e) any single-phase television that is designed to be connected to 230 volts mains voltage, from the1st of January 2018;

(f) any electric single speed induction motor, from the 1st of October 2018;

(g) any ballast for a fluorescent lamp, from the 1st of November 2019.
