New episode of Everything Energy podcast explores where the world’s electricity comes from

A new episode of the IEA podcast Everything Energy digs into the latest data on global electricity trends – exploring how the world’s power supply is generated today and how that mix could evolve as demand surges.

In the episode, now available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, we hear from IEA Electricity Analyst Eren Çam. He breaks down the current roles in power systems worldwide of coal, renewables, natural gas, nuclear power, oil and more. And with electricity consumption set to grow faster than overall energy demand in the years ahead, the episode also looks at which sources are expected to expand – as well as how supply can be ramped up securely and affordably.
