The IEA and the government of Germany announced today that they will co-host the 18th edition of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM18) and the 12th Mission Innovation Ministerial meeting (MI-12) in Paris in 2027.
The announcement was made at the 2026 CEM and Mission Innovation Ministerial meeting, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Held annually, the joint Ministerial convenes government ministers, business and industry leaders and representatives of international organisations to advance collaboration on clean energy innovation and deployment.
IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said “We are delighted to co-host next year’s CEM and MI Ministerial meeting with the government of Germany. Working closely with our German partners and all CEM and MI Members, we look forward to bringing government ministers, industry CEOs and leading innovators together here in Paris to advance technologies and solutions that strengthen energy security and affordability while reducing emissions.”
Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche said “The energy transition is a global challenge that requires practical solutions and strong international partnerships. Our priority is to bring clean energy technologies into wider use, making energy systems more secure, efficient and affordable. Germany looks forward to co-hosting the 2027 Clean Energy Ministerial in Paris with the IEA to advance this work,”
