The annual World Energy Investment report is the IEA’s flagship publication tracking investment trends across the energy sector. The report presents the latest data on capital flows to different types of energy projects, as well as the first set of full-year estimates for 2026.
As energy security concerns continue to shape investment priorities, this year’s report explores the potential implications for different sectors and regions, particularly in light of the ongoing energy crisis stemming from the conflict in the Middle East.
The report's major takeaways will be presented to stakeholders in two separate webinar events, on 10 June at 16:00-17:00 (CEST) and 18 June at 10:30-11:30 (CEST). The first webinar will focus on sector-specific findings, while this second session will cover regional insights. During the webinars, the authors will present key findings of the report, to be followed by a Q&A.
"We are in the midst of the largest energy security crisis the world has ever faced – and I believe this will reshape investment strategies globally, with parallels to the major changes the energy world witnessed after the oil shocks of the 1970s"
