Designing for Fairness and Affordability in Clean Energy Transitions

This COP29 side event will focus on the need for a people-centred approach to energy transitions focused on fairness and affordability. Building on the work of the IEA's Global Commission on People-Centred Clean Energy Transitions: Designing for Fairness, this event will explore the findings and lessons from the Commission's first phase of deliberations and provide a platform for key decision makers to continue their discussions, including on how the costs and the benefits of transitions can be spread more equally across different segments of the population.
