2026 Summit on Clean Cooking in Africa
Add to calendar
In light of ongoing uncertainties and evolving circumstances that may affect the ability of key stakeholders to travel and participate fully in the Summit, this event has been postponed to a later date. The co-chairs and co-organisers will hold a high-level virtual session on 9 July, which will be broadcast on IEA digital channels.
The Governments of Kenya, Norway and the United States, together with the International Energy Agency, will convene the second major international Summit dedicated to advancing clean cooking access for the 1 billion people in Africa who currently lack it.
The Summit will be co-chaired and co-organised by President William Ruto of Kenya, Chairperson of the African Union Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, President of the African Development Bank Sidi Ould Tah, United States Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, Norway's Minister of International Development Åsmund Grøver Aukrust and IEA Executive Director Dr Fatih Birol.
The Summit will build on the momentum generated by the landmark 2024 Paris Summit, where a historic USD 2.2 billion was committed by governments and the private sector. The next event aims to mobilise further financial and political commitments, bringing together governments, industry leaders, investors, development partners, and civil society to accelerate progress towards universal access.
If your organisation would like to attend the Summit, please complete the Expression of Interest form to be considered for a formal invitation.
