ICE = internal combustion engine. Trade balance here is the net export divided by global trade in monetary value of a given commodity, a negative value meaning that the region is a net importer. Trade inside a region is excluded. Here are the HSThe Harmonized System codes used for each value are as follows – ICE car: 870321, 870322, 870323, 870324, 870331, 870332 and 870333 – EV car: 870380 – ICE motor: 840734 – Electric motor: 850153 – Li-ion battery: 850650. Note that those motors and batteries may not be exclusively used as car components.
