Notes

DFI = development finance institution; ECA = export credit agency. Public sources reflect mainly funds from state-owned enterprises (SOEs). Regional financiers are those based in Southeast Asia with the majority of their operations also in the region (e.g. Bank of Malaysia). Concessional debt reflects loans with more generous terms regarding rates (carrying no or low interest rate charges), repayment schedules and ability to make changes during lifetime of the loan. Financial data include project-level data of three-quarters of total capacity commissioned over 2016 19 period (focused on medium- and large-scale projects).
