Announced refers to the sum of installed capacity (2024) and all announced capacity by 2030, whether this has reached a final investment decision or not. Manufacturing capacity refers to battery cells. Colours refer to the location of the company headquarters. For companies with headquarters in a country but owned by companies headquartered in a second country, the headquarters of the owning company is considered for this analysis. The manufacturing capacity of joint ventures between automakers and battery producers is classified according to the battery producer headquarters.
