NZE = Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario. Direct CO2 emissions include energy and process emissions. Values for 2020 are estimates. Primary chemicals include ethylene, propylene, benzene, toluene, mixed xylenes, ammonia and methanol. Primary chemical production accounts for two-thirds of energy consumption in the chemical and petrochemical sector.
