MEPS = Minimum energy performance standards. Energy efficiency label levels in Kenya are scaled from 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being the most efficient. Energy efficiency metrics have been converted to Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) using the methodology by W.Y. Park et al (2020) (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.esd.2020.01.003). Values apply to split type air conditioners, when the regulation distinguishes between types. Differences in test methods for efficiency ratings exist between countries.
