Energy costs savings and upfront investments for different energy efficiency upgrades in a typical multi-family building in Ukraine under adjusted energy tariffs

Upfront retrofit costs cover costs of materials, equipment and labour; retrofit measures include upgrades of roof, basement and wall insulation, drought sealing, scaffolding, replacement of windows, upgrades to the heating system. Most of the data are based on 2015 study with adjustment to inflation of 3.5%. Calculated energy costs savings are calculated for the period of 20 years with 5% discount rate. Adjusted energy tariffs assume that gas prices are increased to reach current levels of electricity prices (2.64 UAH/kWh for 2025 for usage under 2 000kWh/month or 24 000kWh/year).
