Electricity demand by EV mode is calculated using the following assumptions (where the range indicates the variation across countries). Fuel consumption (in kWh/km): PLDVs 0.20-0.26; LCVs 0.31-0.42; buses 1.2-1.74; minibuses 0.35-1.49; medium trucks 0.87-1.11; heavy trucks 1.46-2.08; two-wheelers 0.03-0.04. Annual mileage (in km): PLDVs 8 000-18 000 km; LCVs 11 000-31 000; buses and minibuses 15 000-45 000; medium and heavy trucks 22 000-91 000; two-wheelers 4 000-7 600. Charging losses are 5% and the share of electric driving for PHEV is 70% of the annual mileage.
