SEER = seasonal energy efficiency ratio. ISEER = Indian seasonal energy efficiency ratio. EER = energy efficiency ratio. CSPF = cooling seasonal performance factor. An air conditioner’s efficiency rating refers to the ratio of heat removed from a space to the amount of energy the equipment requires to condition it. The higher the rating, the more efficient the equipment. Efficiency rating indicators differ by country depending on climate weighting, which can be altered by, for example, assuming different temperature bins (ranges) or requesting different numbers of testing data points. 2020 data for Canada includes a broader range of equipment compared to 2017.
